FACEBOOK SURVEY
February 26th 2008, by Jamie Riddell
In a recent short survey of Facebook users, we asked "Which other social networks do you actively update." With the well documented growth of Facebook, we wanted to see if the other social networks still maintained an attraction with users updating more than one account.
The survey offered the choice of Myspace, Faceparty, Bebo, Jaiku.Twitter or Blogger.
The results showed a substantial 85% of respondents still updated their Myspace account with 7% regularly updating a Faceparty account. Surprisingly, Bebo only accounted for 3% of the respondents, alongside Blogger.com. Twitter/Jaiku only accounted for 2% of all respondents.
This survey shows an interesting trend that whilst users are jumping to and from networks, it is not always in replacement of a previous network. As we look at how we can connect with these audiences, we must remember that each network will have a relevance to those that use it, and we should not be focusing just on the network du jour.
Those results in full:
- Myspace 85%
- Faceparty 7%
- Bebo.com 3%
- Blogger.com 3%
- Twitter/Jaiku 2%
